An ancient people with a revered heritage living lightly on the land have opened their
home to visitors from the outside world. Only 45 miles from the Kingman Arizona Airport,
the Hualapai Lodge is the doorway to this fabulous opportunity. Guests experience a white
water rafting trip on the mighty Colorado River with guides whose lineage includes life on
the river since before the European discovery of what was to become America. The hotel
offers guests $25 off for rafting per person. They get to hear the oral history of a
people who experienced the forced march to La Paz but managed to retain their language and
culture to this very day. The Hualapai people have always been in this area of the Grand
Canyon and the Colorado Plateau. Anthropologists have found evidence dating back a
thousand years that indicates the presence of the Hualapai and their stories and legends
have been handed down for many generations. visitors are can be treated to a helicopter
tour of the Grand Canyon and a visit to the Grand Canyon at the West Rim inside the
Hualapai Reservation. Guests can avoid the crowds that visit the National Park by seeing
things and places that very few outsiders have ever had the opportunity to experience!

Permits for camping, fishing and sightseeing by auto into the Canyon are available at the
Hualapai Lodge. Guests can drive to the bottom of the canyon in their own vehicles, tour
or even camp at River's Edge, one of the very few places in the Grand Canyon where that is
possible. Visitors are availed the opportunity for a unique look at the Grand Canyon
through the culture and history of the Hualapai Indians, People of the Tall Pines. Diamond
Creek Restaurant serves three meals a day to hungry travelers, rafters, and other Grand
Canyon explorers. Meeting Facilities are available in the hotel to support all types of
group events including business meetings, trip orientation and just plain fun events.
After a day in the wild the tired but content travelers return to the modern, clean,
